Where the game comes from
A line that grows and must not touch itself is among the oldest ideas in screen games: a cabinet with exactly that rule for two players stood in arcades in 1976.
The single-player version became known worldwide from 1997, when it shipped preinstalled on a plain mobile phone — for millions of people the first game they ever carried in a pocket.
