Orb Match – play online for free
Orb Match combines match-three swaps with campaign objectives and an endless score run. Four- and five-orb matches create rockets and bombs that can reshape difficult areas.
In levels, progress toward the displayed objective matters more than raw points.

Match 3 or more
- Swipe two neighboring orbs to swap them.
- 3 in a row match and vanish.
- Match 4 or 5 to create rockets and bombs.
- Tap a rocket or bomb to set it off — bonus time or moves!
- Reach the level goal before moves or time run out.
Practical strategy tips
- Read the objective pill before making the first swap.
- Look for four or five before settling for a simple three.
- Trigger special orbs near blocked or hard-to-reach cells.
- Prepare cascades in endless mode instead of relying on one large hit.
Strategy
Read the level objective before moving and identify the colours or board areas that advance it. Check each simple line of three for a possible four- or five-orb alternative. Those larger matches create rockets and bombs, which are most useful near difficult cells. A swap that does not advance the objective should either prepare such a special orb or open the board enough to justify its limited cost.
During the middle phase, combine reliable target progress with planned cascades. Clear beneath important orbs so falling pieces can form extra matches, but do not rely on chance when few moves remain. Trigger special pieces where they affect several required cells. Endless play supports slower setups because a sustainable stream of new matches matters there more than finishing one displayed objective.
Common mistakes
- Taking the first line of three spends limited moves carelessly; check for larger patterns and the current objective first.
- Creating a special orb far from useful cells reduces its impact; plan the finishing swap in the relevant area.
- Playing only for raw score can fail a level; evaluate every action by its visible objective progress.

Where the game comes from
Swapping two neighbouring pieces to line up three of a kind appeared in the early 1990s and became a mass pastime late in the decade, when browser versions put it in front of anyone with an office computer.
The chain reaction is what carries the genre. Pieces dropping into cleared space can form new lines by themselves, which rewards thinking two or three moves ahead. Taking the first available swap gets you through the early boards and no further.
Frequently asked questions
What creates a valid match in Orb Match?
Swap two neighbouring orbs so at least three of one colour form a horizontal or vertical line. The line disappears. Matches of four or five can create rockets or bombs that clear additional areas.
How do level and endless modes differ?
Levels provide specific objectives plus a move or time limit. Endless mode continues as a score run. Direct objective progress matters more in levels, while prepared cascades and a stable board are valuable over a longer run.
Should rockets and bombs be triggered immediately?
Not always. If a special orb sits far from important cells, another swap may place its effect more productively. When the remaining limit is tight, however, secure immediate progress is often better than an elaborate setup.
