Orb Merge – play online for free

Orb Merge is a physics puzzle where equal orbs combine into the next size. Every drop changes the pile and can start a chain, but it also consumes precious container space.

Long runs depend on keeping useful pairs reachable rather than building narrow towers.

How to play

Merge them big

  1. Drag left/right and drop the bubble.
  2. Two equal bubbles merge into a bigger one.
  3. Chain merges for combos and big points.
  4. Don't overfill the container — that's game over.

Practical strategy tips

  • Keep the largest orbs low and toward one side.
  • Drop matching small tiers into the same area.
  • Use the next-orb preview when choosing the current position.
  • Avoid narrow wells between large orbs.

Strategy

Divide the container into development zones from the first drops. Keep large orbs low on one side and combine small tiers mainly on the other. Consult the preview before releasing the current orb: an ordinary placement may be correct when the next one will immediately meet its partner there. Broad low layers remain mobile, whereas narrow towers trap small pieces in unreachable gaps.

As the fill line rises, evaluate both the first collision and possible chain reactions. One merge can roll neighbours together and produce another equal pair. Keep the centre available as movement space, and avoid wedging small tiers between large bodies. When danger approaches the top, choose dependable low merges over ambitious drops toward a partner that is difficult to reach.

Common mistakes

  • Stacking the largest orbs centrally divides the container; collect them low and toward one chosen side.
  • Ignoring the preview wastes easy prepared pairs; plan the current drop and the next one as a sequence.
  • Dropping small orbs into narrow wells traps them; preserve open rolling paths toward matching tiers.

Where the game comes from

Two identical things touch and become one larger thing: the rule is old, but combined with real physics it only became popular around 2021, when merging games inside a container appeared in quick succession.

The difference from a grid game matters. Nothing lands on a fixed square here — it rolls, nudges its neighbours and settles wherever it settles. A round can never be calculated through; all you can do is keep creating good starting positions.

Frequently asked questions

When do two orbs merge in Orb Merge?

Two orbs of the same size combine when they touch, creating the next larger tier. Since objects roll and push their neighbours, that change can immediately bring another equal pair into contact.

Why does an orb move away from the drop line?

The container uses physical movement rather than fixed grid cells. A falling orb can strike an existing round surface, roll along it, nudge nearby pieces and settle at a different horizontal position.

What ends a run?

The run ends when the pile overfills the container. Successful play therefore requires more than creating large orbs: keep the structure low, avoid unstable narrow towers and merge trapped small tiers before they accumulate.

Why play Orb Merge on FunPort?

  • Rolling physics keeps planned drops from becoming entirely predictable.
  • Each merge creates room while rearranging the surrounding structure.
  • The preview supports tactical sequences across two consecutive orbs.
