Color Flow – play online for free

Color Flow connects matching dots with paths that cannot cross, while every cell on the board must also be filled.

A pair can be connected correctly and still block the remaining puzzle, so the shape of unused space matters.

How to play

Connect every color pair

  1. Drag from a colored dot to its matching partner.
  2. The pipe fills every cell you drag across.
  3. Pipes never cross each other.
  4. Solve by connecting every pair AND filling the board.
  5. Drag back along a pipe to erase it.
  6. Lay fewer pipes to earn more stars.

Practical strategy tips

  • Start with edge dots and tight corners.
  • Avoid dividing the board too early.
  • Confirm every remaining pair still has a route.
  • Drag backward along a path to shorten or redraw it.

Connect the colors, world by world

Where the game comes from

Connecting pairs of dots through a grid without letting the paths cross is a puzzle type from the late 19th century. An American puzzle writer printed such problems from 1897; from the 1980s Japanese publishers developed them systematically.

The second condition is what changes the character: at the end every cell must be occupied. It stops being a connection puzzle and becomes a division of area — empty cells prove that some path has to run elsewhere.
